  • Processed Flowers

    After arrival, boxed flowers are inspected, cut, placed into buckets of water, which are then placed into massive coolers for storage.   • Boxes on Pallet

    Shipments arrive on pallets, and are processed in a short time. These horizontal boxes contain greens such as seeded eucalyptis and ruscus. The tall box is a Procona of stock (which is a fragrant flower related to larkspur). This was taken inside BW's new cooler.

  • Buckets for the Bucket Trucks

    In addition to boxed orders, most trucks carry buckets of flowers so we florists can pick up things we might need at the last minute. The buckets are loaded onto wheeled carts, which are then rolled onto the trucks and locked into place. This was taken inside BW's new cooler, which holds flowers at 36 degrees F.

  • Inside of Loading Area

    Most of BW's facility is a large loading dock. This area will be bustling with activity in the early morning hours. Individual orders are packed and queued at the specific doors; the trucks are lined up according to their route. Holiday greens fill the middle of the floor, since these photos were taken the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

  • BW's Delivery Trucks

    BW's refridgerated trucks lined up and ready to roll in less than 24 hours. These trucks will carry open buckets and boxed orders. Starting abut 4:00 am Monday, the packers and loaders will fill these trucks.

  • Armellini Truck

    9:00 am Sunday, the Armellini truck arrives from Miami's flower markets. Some flowers are trucked in, some are shipped via refridgerated truck.
