This is a photo from the SAF Outstanding Varieties Competition at the SAF 2006 conference. Blackstar mini calla lily is a deep burgundy color--so dark, it looks black. Not the unusual stem color, too--dark brown, as opposed to a light green usually seen (look at the ones in the background). This will affect how the flower looks in an arrangement where the stem is visible, such as a hand-tied bridal bouquet or some of the arrangements seen in our SAF 2006 gallery.
