Reducing, reusing, recycling
This Earth Day we thought we'd share with you some of the ways we reduce, reuse and recycle materials in our store.
- Tissue paper and other paper packing materials are reused to cushion wedding orders
- Bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts are used to pack product for storage in our store
- Excess bubble wrap and other packing materials are brought to packaging and mailing facilities that reuse the material
- Cardboard flower boxes are wrapped in pretty paper and used to pack wedding orders or other orders as needed
- Small cardboard boxes are used to pack arrangements for transportation after purchase
- Excess or non-reusable cardboard is brought to the public recycling bins in Portland or returned to wholesalers for reuse in packing other orders
- Catalogs and other paper materials are recycled (Thank you, Lucie!)
- Plastic plant pots are given to a teacher for use with students in her classroom or are returned to a plant wholesaler
- Glass vases are accepted in our store from customers for reuse or recycling
- Other suitable containers are accepted in our store as well
Together we can all make a difference, a little bit at a time.
