To honor my father's memory on this special day, I will share a few of my favorite memories with you My father was the best Daddy a little girl could have. I was a real "Daddy's girl" and a genuine "Navy Brat!" I worshiped the ground my father walked on. As a little girl, I can remember going everywhere with him in his 1957 Buick. I always stood next to him as he drove, and it's amazing that I survived without ever being strapped into a car seat! Times sure have changed! As the years passed, I spent weekends with my father watching every sporting event known to man on TV! I just wanted to be near him, and if learning to love sports was the way to win his heart, I was in the game! My father had the wittiest personality and could always find humor in any situation. My favorite memory of my father was his request to the priest for us both to wear roller skates down the 250 foot aisle at my wedding! We didn't get to skate down the aisle, but I felt like a princess having my father by my side as I took those memorable steps to meet my groom! My father was quite a character and I adored him and cherish our memorable times together.

My father was a 20 year Naval officer. He joined the Navy when he was just 17 and retired at 37 as a Chief Petty Officer. My father is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He passed away on August 15, 2001. Every year at Father's Day, I honor his memory by sending a beautiful floral tribute. This year, I will be sending an exquisite floral wreath to be placed at his gravesite. I will visit my father's gravesite in the early fall. I always take beautiful flowers with me in a cemetery cone that can be easily inserted into the ground.  Did you know that we can send floral tributes to your father's gravesite anywhere in the country? Call us to make special arrangements to honor your father's memory with a tribute of glorious flowers this Father's Day.

I would like to share with you a letter I wrote to Dear Abby shortly after my father passed away. During his long battle with cancer, Dear Abby's column featured many stories about "Pennies From Heaven." My father always complained that he never had money, because my mother wouldn't give him any! I made sure that I put money in his pocket before his funeral, and when I visit his gravesite, I always leave lots of pennies! To this day, I always find pennies whenever I am feeling especially blue or discouraged. Keep tossing those pennies from Heaven, Dad, and know that I cherish your memory...I love you...and wish you a Happy Father's Day in Heaven!
