Where are all the florists going?

When you have been in any industry for 20 years or more you see cycles that develop. Some are good, some are bad but, all are interesting, I was reviewing Valentine sales and began to wonder, what will next year bring? I am reminded of my college orientation when the professor said "look to your left and to your right and say goodbye, because statistically only one in three of you will reach graduation"  At a florist convention over the weekend I felt the those words ringing in my ears. As a "real" "professional" "accredited" florist we need to remember one thing: our business is local. We serve customers from everywhere but, we are the ones who deliver the final product to the recipient.We need to remind that recipient that their floral gift was delivered by a florist and that they should contact you the next time they need flowers. Every order we deliver should have information on how to order flowers from your shop. A simple card with your name, contact info and delivery area would do the trick.
