FTD.com - Some Assembly Required
If you visit FTD.com, you'll see a huge selection of flower arrangements. Many, and all those listed as "Same Day Delivery", are delievered by a local florist, arranged as you see. But some arrangements (the ones delivered by UPS, DHL or FedEx) arrive in a box, and need to be assembled by the recipient.
Similar to our experience with ProFlowers earlier this year, Beneva Flowers in Sarasota, FL put together a video of what it takes to unbox one of these FTD.com shipments. Although theirs weren't frozen solid, they were far more difficult to unbox, and still would require significant work to make them resemble the photo. See for yourself:

One other note. Our local funeral directors tell us they've received a few of these drop-ship deliveries. And the boxes were set out in the funeral home, as they arrived. The funeral directors don't consider it their job to arrange boxed flowers. We're sure this is not the message you want to send to loved ones in their time of grief.
