The Bloomery Florist Boutique - Butler, PA 16001 - Butler's Florist of Distinction

Since 1998, The Bloomery has been Butler's florist of distinction. Our design staff has nearly 70 years of experience, and has been part of hundreds of weddings. We can be found online at www.bloomery.com and www.bloomeryweddings.com.
FTD.com - Some Assembly Required

If you visit FTD.com, you'll see a huge selection of flower arrangements.  Many, and all those listed as "Same Day Delivery", are delievered by a local florist, arranged as you see.  But some arrangements (the ones delivered by UPS, DHL or FedEx) arrive in a box, and need to be assembled by the recipient.

Similar to our experience with ProFlowers earlier this year, Beneva Flowers in Sarasota, FL put together a video of what it takes to unbox one of these FTD.com shipments.  Although theirs weren't frozen solid, they were far more difficult to unbox, and still would require significant work to make them resemble the photo.  See for yourself:

One other note.  Our local funeral directors tell us they've received a few of these drop-ship deliveries.  And the boxes were set out in the funeral home, as they arrived.  The funeral directors don't consider it their job to arrange boxed flowers.  We're sure this is not the message you want to send to loved ones in their time of grief.

Seems like a lot of money for what you would find in a grocery store. What a pity that the big 800's can continue to take advantage of consumers and the FTC does not step in a put a halt to it. I bet if the people who chose to use the drop ship middlemen could see what is really being delivered and that it isn't remotely close to the picture picked out, that      they would be appalled. But without videos like these they have no idea.Maybe next time they will chose to work with thier Real Local Florist!
