Compare Flower Prices - Orchids

Everybody likes to get a good value when shopping for flowers. We at Avante Gardens believe our florist offers exceptional value in professionally arranged, hand-delivered flower gifts so we thought our readers might be interested in just how much they save by buying direct from us or another local florist in the area where they need flowers delivered.

Today we'll compare one dozen long-lasting dendrobium orchids arranged in a vase. We use the 'Bombay' variety, with its variegated fuchsia and white blooms, and casually design them with light foliages in a tall pilsner-shaped vase.

The overall presentation stands an impressive 24" tall and is available for $54.95. Local delivery, available Monday through Saturday, to Anaheim CA and surrounding towns costs from $6.95 to $9.99 for a total price of $61.90 to $64.94 plus tax. 

By comparison, 1800flowers.com offers one dozen Bombay dendrobium orchids in a simple glass vase for $59.95. No size indication is given, but we estimate the arrangement to be approximately 18" tall. The service charge of $12.99 brings the total cost to $72.94 plus tax.

Neither FTD.com nor ProFlowers.com offer professionally designed ready-to-wow orchid arrangements for delivery.  Both only ship orchids in a box with a vase for your gift recipient to assemble him or herself.  

ProFlowers.com offers 15 dendrobiums with a glass vase for $49.94 plus $11.99 for delivery Tuesday through Friday and $21.98 for delivery on Saturdays. Delivery is not available on Mondays. The total cost ranges from $61.93 to $71.92 plus tax and your recipient gets to put it together. 

FTD.com has ten dendrobium orchids with a glass vase for $54.95 plus a Tuesday though Friday delivery service charge of $12.99. Deliveries are not available on Mondays. Saturday shipping charges are a whopping $27.99 for a total of $67.98 to $82.99 plus tax.  Again, your recipient gets to assemble his or her own gift.

Avante Garden isn't the only local florist with far better values than the national companies so be sure to compare all the fees and make sure you are getting the professional floral design services that make your gift impressive from the start.  

By checking prices with local florists in the area you need delivery you may be surprised how affordable a fresh, professionally presented, hand-delivered orchid arrangement can be.
