Wedding Ceremony Flowers In A Garden

Many Los Angeles and Orange County wedding ceremony locations include a garden with a gazebo, arch or cupola as a backdrop. These structures allow florists to embellish and customize with a wide variety of styles and colors - and create the perfect look to reflect each bride and groom's personality and taste.

In a previous post, I talked about wedding ceremony locations where brides often use rented arches, chuppahs and gazebos. Here we'll highlight some stunning Southern California settings that include garden structure features and show how the Avante Gardens floral design team added fresh flowers and accessories to enhance the decor.

Hyatt Regency, Newport Beach CA - Amphitheater

Hyatt Regency Amphitheater Wedding Flowers

The Hyatt Regency, Newport Beach offers a number of settings for outdoor weddings. In the photo (right), the Amphitheater, the largest wedding venue at the hotel, was trimmed in a tailored, contemporary style with an abundance of roses, hydrangeas, tulips and boronia in vibrant shade of magenta, red and hot pink.

The tiered grass gallery, central aisle paved of stones and large garden structure can take on a more intimate feel by framing the ceremony area to placed more visual focus on the wedding party. In this example, we used draped chiffon and a set of fabric-covered columns - creating a modern arch effect.

Summit House, Fullerton CA

Summit House GazeboThe Summit House and adjacent Vista Park Gazebo are one of Fullerton's most popular locations for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The large gazebo structure can be transformed and highlighted with a variety of styles, colors and looks.

One bride and groom from a summer wedding (left) asked our team to create a setting to give the appearance the gazebo opening was covered in naturally growing vines and flowers. Designers used more than 1000 peach stock and hundreds of tendrils of ivy and foliages to create the abundant, 'fresh from the garden' decor.

Summit House Gazebo FlowersFor a winter-time sunset wedding (right), our design team used thousands of seed lights and hundreds of willow boughs - accented with dendrobium orchids and foliages - to created a natural, elegant wintry effect. The gazebo floor was lined with white linen to complete the formal setting.

A tip for brides planning on a naturalistic look as seen in these photos - be sure to secure an additional time slot at Vista Park to allow for ample preparation time to create these elaborate effects.

La Venta Inn, Rancho Palos Verdes CA

With a spectacular hill-top view of the Pacific Ocean, the La Venta Inn offers a photogenic and memorable wedding setting with its garden gazebo.

La Venta Inn Wedding Flowers Creating a wisteria-like effect using raspberry stock, honeysuckle vines and fresh ivy, the Avante Gardens designers gave the gazebo the appearance of being covered in naturally growing flowers.  A unity candelabra and table were accessorized to match the garden style.  In a more casual, contemporary garden interpretation (right), our team used an abundance of hydrangeas, roses and hanging amaranthus to frame the couple in a style that reflected a French Provincial theme.  With their vibrant colors and rich textures, the flowers, foliages and vines infused the setting with an energetic and sophisticated touch.

Lakewood Country Club, Lakewood CA

Lakewood Country Club Wedding Flowers The Lakewood Country Club's garden wedding setting includes a white lattice arch as a backdrop. With the addition of fabric swags and fresh floral accents, the arch can take on a more formal appearance.

For this wedding (left), our designers used butter-cream yellow, peach and ivory roses to decorate the arch. The aisle, a central visual feature, was completed with a heavy pathway of rose petals in shades of ivory and pale yellow.
