Rainforest by Moonlight at the Fullerton Arboretum

The Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum held its annual Midsummer Night in the Garden gala and auction on July 15.  The more than 350 attendees dined on a wonderful meal by Panache Catering, danced to Mike Henebry's Big Band Orchestra and enjoyed both silent and live auctions to raise funds for the premier botanical facility in Orange County.

The event was chaired by Barbara Kilponen and agained featured a themed watercolor by artist Patricia McCormack French. Patricia has generously donated an original design for use on the Midsummer Night in the Garden invitation and programs for the last nine years.

The Golden Oak Award, bestowed annually to individuals for their distinguished service to the arboretum, was granted to LaNelle Underwood Cittadin for her many volunteer efforts and support. 

Avante Gardens was pleased to provide the fresh floral decor for the seventh year. The brightly colored centerpieces featured a variety of orchids including Dendrobiums, Mokaras, Oncidiums and Arachnis and were filled with fountains of beargrass and tropical foliages. 

Some of our previous year's designs included themes based on a Japanese Tea Ceremony, Tahiti and a Hard Hat Ball.

Congratulations to the Gala Committee, Fullerton Arboretum staff and the many volunteers for once again putting on the premier summer event in north Orange County.
